Suicide bomb attack kills 55 at a Shia Mosque in Pakistan
At least 55 people were killed and 59 others were wounded in an alleged case of suicide bombing in southern Pakistan on January 30, 2015.
The explosion ripped through a Shiite mosque in Shikarpur, Sindh province, during Friday Prayer.
As per the reports, Jundullah, a Sunni militant group with links to the Pakistani Taliban, has claimed responsibility for the attack.
The attack has come a little more than a month after Taliban militants stormed a school in northwest Pakistan, killing at least 150 people, most of which were children.

A suicide attack is a violent attack in which the attacker intends to kill others or cause great destruction and expects to die in the process.
Between 1981 and 2006, 1200 suicide attacks occurred around the world, constituting 4 percent of all terrorist attacks but 32 percent (14,599 people) of all terrorism-related deaths.
90 percent of these attacks occurred in Iraq, Israel, the Palestinian territories, Afghanistan, Pakistan or Sri Lanka.
In the first eight months of 2008, Pakistan overtook Iraq and Afghanistan in suicide bombings, with 28 bombings killing 471 people.
In the ten years after September 11, 2001, there were 303 suicide attacks in Pakistan.
